    Overview

Alison Dunbar is a Positive Behaviour Support practitioner and counsellor who works closely with individuals, families, and carers navigating complex behavioural and emotional challenges. Her work requires not only trust and clarity but also practical systems that support long-term behavioural outcomes.

She approached Hello Juno to build a platform that would do more than present her services. The goal was to create a website and supporting web application that actively assists clients in regulating emotions, understanding behaviours, and tracking incidents in a structured and meaningful way.

This project sits at the intersection of Positive Behaviour Support, counselling, and digital innovation, combining clear communication with functional tools that improve real-world outcomes.

    Strategy

Our strategy focused on two key pillars: education and empowerment.

For new users, the website needed to clearly explain Positive Behaviour Support and counselling in a way that feels accessible and easy to understand. Many clients entering this space are often overwhelmed, so the structure of the website guides them through services, processes, and next steps with clarity.

For existing clients, we identified a major gap in how behavioural incidents are recorded and analysed. Traditional methods are often inconsistent or difficult to maintain. To solve this, we designed a system that simplifies how data is captured and used.

We positioned the platform not just as a service website, but as a support tool that contributes directly to emotional regulation and behavioural understanding.

    Design Approach

The visual direction draws inspiration from a coastal environment, creating a calm and grounded digital experience. This approach supports the emotional state of users, helping reduce overwhelm and creating a sense of safety and clarity as they navigate the platform.

Rather than focusing purely on aesthetics, every design decision was made to support emotional regulation and ease of use. The experience feels light, open, and supportive, aligning with the nature of Alison’s work in Positive Behaviour Support and counselling.

This ensures that users are not only informed but also feel comfortable engaging with the platform during potentially stressful moments.

    Development

We developed a high-performance, SEO-optimised website supported by a custom-built web application tailored to Alison’s workflow.

The core feature of this project is the incident tracking web app, designed specifically for clients and carers to log behavioural events in real time.

    This tool allows users to:

    • Record incidents quickly and consistently
    • Capture key contextual information around behaviours
    • Build a structured history of events over time

The system transforms what is typically fragmented information into clear, usable data.

From Alison’s perspective, this enables deeper analysis of behavioural patterns. From the client’s perspective, it creates awareness and reflection, which are critical steps in emotional regulation.

The application was built to be simple, intuitive, and accessible across devices, ensuring consistent usage without adding complexity to the user’s routine.

    Outcome

The result is a platform that actively supports both client acquisition and ongoing care delivery.

The website now clearly communicates Alison’s expertise in Positive Behaviour Support and counselling, helping families and support coordinators understand her services and take the next step with confidence.

The custom web application has introduced a data-driven approach to behavioural support. By tracking incidents consistently, both Alison and her clients can identify triggers, recognise patterns, and make more informed decisions around care strategies.

    This leads to:

    • Improved understanding of behavioural triggers
    • More structured and consistent reporting
    • Better collaboration between practitioner and client
    • Stronger long-term outcomes in emotional regulation

The platform shifts Alison’s service from reactive support to proactive and insight-driven care.
